I love the colours of this one. it’s so fresh for Spring and it is a favourite flower for lots of people and the symbolic flower of the Flora Dance in Helston. This is another design which dates back to 2011 started out as a triptych fabric collage for a friend of mine, each leaf and petal was laser cut from fabric. It was a fiddly process sticking all the tiny bits together! My mum gave me my granny’s jewellery box with her Red Cross medals and trinkets including a little silver shoe decoration from her wedding cake that had a sprig of Lily of the Valley on it, and the symbolic meaning of Lily of the Valley is happiness, hope and purity, isn’t that lovely.

The beautiful Euphorbia plant has evergreen foliage with citrus flower bracts, and they make exotic sculptured shapes to garden borders. This design offers bold foliage patterns to provide botanical interest in a modern home of a gardener.

For Mother’s Day I took my mum to Caerhays Castle and Gardens in Cornwall, to see the wonderful collection of ancient magnolia trees. This garden is only open for a short few weeks in Spring, and it was a real delight and treat.  My new design is inspired by our visit – looking up at the trees with the blooms outlined against the Cornish blue sky.
