The beautiful Euphorbia plant has evergreen foliage with citrus flower bracts, and they make exotic sculptured shapes to garden borders. This design offers bold foliage patterns to provide botanical interest in a modern home of a gardener.

I grew up in the tropics, in a small group of islands called Vanuatu in the Pacific. Bird of Paradise flowers were commonplace there, but in the UK people grow Strelitzia in their hothouses. In the warm climate of Cornwall where I live now, the plants are moved outdoors during the summer months. This design originally started off as a bespoke request from one of my regular customers, who was looking for a tropical feel to her lounge, and it is rapidly becoming one of my best sellers.

Sculpture Garden, St Ives Lampshade
Sculpture Garden in St Ives, Cornwall – I make all my lampshades with fabric that has been printed with my illustrations.
Inspired by visiting the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden in St Ives Cornwall, I’ve created a panoramic illustration which follows my walk through the gardens and into the studio. There is something almost “Miss Haversham” about the Studio, a gentle feeling of decay, yet it looks as Dame Barbara has just downed her tools and walked out of the room, or stood up from the Bertoia chair after a contemplative break in the greenhouse room, even though it is over 40 years now since the Museum was opened to the public.
Printed in soft gentle coastal blues, this lampshade would be a perfect reminder of a visit to the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Gardens in St Ives in Cornwall.

Mustard and pinky purples, this Verbena bonariensis fabric has been printed in the UK with my unique illustration and following customer requests I’ve adapted my design for a mustard background, which looks quite striking. I make all my lampshades myself by hand, from my base in Cornwall.

Bold bright florals which bring the outside indoors and give a cheerful accent to 2021 interiors. Verbena bonariensis is one of my favourite flowering plants in the garden, it starts flowering in early spring and keeps going until autumn, self seeding and producing new baby plants again for next year. It looks stunning in coastal gardens alongside swishy long ornamental grasses.

Crocosmia (or Monbretia) is a popular flower in Cornwall and the South west of the UK in mid summer onwards, their bright blossom waving above blade like leaves provide cheerful colour.
